We used to call him Mani Menon. He was a very confident and strong-willed person in the department, with a remarkable ability to influence many of us. Brilliant and no-nonsense, he made a significant impact, but he also knew how to bring fun to the class.
Post IIT days, I had a chance to meet him again after a long time. Brijesh Nath was always known for hosting extravagant parties at his residence in Bandra, a grand two-story house that was the perfect setting for his gatherings.
He had come from Santa Cruz, and as witty as ever, his humor never failed to shine through. There was one evening when we perhaps overindulged a bit, but despite having a few drinks, he insisted on driving his family back home.
